Knowledge and usage of hand sanitizer
Why hand sanitizer price is going so high? ?
(1).With the demand to hand sanitizer is going to hug in a short time, there almost is no stocked hand sanitizer left. There is a simple financial term, the things are rarer, the cost is more expensive. It depends on the market, not the seller and manufacturer.
(2).The production capacity of hand sanitizers on locals cannot meet the market demand in a short period.
(3).The material and container are also in shortage, so manufacturers need to pay more money to material suppliers. (check on the news)
(4).The pandemic greatly limits global and local transportation, leading to a significant increase in transportation costs.
(5).Governments of various countries have put forward higher quality requirements for the hand sanitizer, and require a lot of certification for the hand sanitizer, which has led to an increase in labor costs, capital costs and time costs.
(6).At the last, the price of hand sanitizer will not always stay at a such high price, the market is going to be rational and the supply of hand sanitizer will meet the market demand in about 3-5 months.
Why fragrance-free alcohol-based hand sanitizer smells not good?
(1).Ethanol is the main material in alcohol-based hand sanitizer, so you will smell the alcohol when there is no fragrance, essential oill or other organic plant oil in sanitizer.
(2).FDA requires hand sanitizer manufacturers to add denaturants and bitters to hand sanitizer to protect people and children from ingesting hand sanitizer as wine (check on the news), so it may not smells good, but the most important is hand sanitizer can help people to antivirus. I think people’s life is much more important than something smells good, right?
Why hand sanitizer is becoming essential ?
With the coronavirus spriding around the world,Hand sanitizer is become essentially import for our daily life & protect us from virus.Aside from inhaling droplets, you can also get respiratory viruses including SARS-CoV-2 by touching anything contaminated with the virus and then touching your face, in particular your mouth or nose. We touch our faces a lot without even realising it. A study from New South Wales found that people touch their faces about 23 times an hour
Washing with warm water and soap remains the gold standard for hand hygiene and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. Washing with warm water (not cold water) and soap removes oils from our hands that can harbour microbes.
But hand sanitisers can also protect against disease-causing microbes, especially in situations when soap and water aren’t available. They’re also proven to be effective in reducing the number and type of microbes.
Why alcohol based hand sanitizer is better than alcohol free one ?
There are two main types of hand sanitisers: alcohol-based and alcohol-free. Alcohol-based hand sanitisers contain varying amounts and types of alcohol, often between 60% and 95% and usually isopropyl alcohol, ethanol (ethyl alcohol) or n-propanol. Alcohol is known to be able to kill most germs.
Alcohol-free hand sanitisers contain something called quarternary ammonium compounds (usually benzalkonium chloride) instead of alcohol. These can reduce microbes but are less effective than alcohol.
The Ellis Island immigration center processes 11,747 people, more than on any other day.
NASA’s Kepler confirms the discovery of the first Earth-size planet in the habitable zone of another star.
Not only are alcohol-based hand sanitisers found to be effective at killing many types of bacteria, including MRSA and E coli, they’re also effective against many viruses, including the influenza A virus, rhinovirus, hepatitis A virus, HIV, and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV).
Hand soap and hand sanitizer work better together
If hands are visibly dirty, hand washing with soap and water is more effective than using alcohol-based hand sanitisers. Research has found that the detergent effect of soap and the friction of washing work together to reduce the number of microbes on our hands, as well as the dirt and organic materials.
Sneezing or coughing into your hands also requires more than just a pump of hand sanitiser to disinfect them. This is because if your hands are contaminated with mucous, the hand sanitiser might not work as well because mucous acts to protect microbes.
As a result, the best and most consistent way of preventing the spread of the coronavirus – and reducing your risk of contracting it – remains washing your hands with soap and water as a first choice, and avoiding touching your face as much as possible.
But alcohol-based hand sanitisers (with at least 60% alcohol) are a practical alternative when soap and water aren’t available. If you are using hand sanitiser then, just like when washing with soap and water, you need to make sure you cover your hands (including between your knuckles, wrists, palms, back of your hand and your fingernails) fully, rubbing it in for at least 20 seconds so it’s truly effective.
CDC suggestion about hand sanitizer
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention do note that, when it comes to preventing the spread of coronavirus, “if soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.”
Why selfmake hand sanitizer is not good as commercial hand sanitizer ？
As a manufacturer of hand sanitizer, I don’t recommend that people make hand sanitizer by themselves,It’s nothing to do with business, but about safety and the effectiveness of hand sanitizer.
1.In the process of making the hand sanitizer, we will use a lot of high-concentration alcohol. If there is no safe production environment and suitable equipment, this is very dangerous for people in the family environment.
2.Commercial hand sanitizer will add some skin care ingredients as well as denaturants and bitters which guarantees that children will not be interested in drinking hand sanitizer as wine, which is why the FDA does not agree with distilleries to make hand sanitizer if they don’t add denaturants and bitters.
3.Alcohol as the active substance of hand sanitizer, hand sanitizer manufacturer will strictly control the alcohol content to reach more than 60%, selfmake hand sanitizer may not be able to strictly guarantee this.
4.Most importantly, if the commercial hand sanitizer in your area is currently in shortage, there is nothing can protect you from virus, I think self make hand sanitizer is feasible & should be recommended. At the same time, I invite everyone to pay attention to safety when making selfmake hand sanitizer.
5.I sincerely hope that people will overcome coronavirus as soon as possible. People’s life is the most important thing in the world.
Can hand sanitizer clean your mobile phone?
Yes.Mobile phones are easily loaded with bacteria as they gather dirts and grease with everyday use which can cause skin breakout, everyday a dab of hand sanitizer can help clean the keypads for instance and wipe away any dirt or grime/bacteria that wants to breed on there.
Great for removing makeup stains
Hand sanitizer works perfectly to remove make-up stains from clothes from coffee stains to makeup and more, just apply a generous amount of sanitizer over the stains let it soak in and wipe away stains.
